An arm lift, technically called a brachioplasty, is a procedure in which excess fat and skin are surgically removed from the upper arms to create a firm, fit, more attractive look to saggy-looking upper arms.
Is an arm lift painful?
Any surgery involves incisions and some discomfort. You will have a prescription for pain medication, so you stay comfortable during the early stages of healing. Specialized numbing medication may be added to help control the pain for the first few days after your surgery.
What about scars?
You will have scars, but they will be located on the underside of your upper arms. We help our patients with all aspects of healing, including scar management. By the time you are fully healed, the incision sites should appear like a fine white line, not particularly visible.
What is a mini-arm lift?
A mini arm lift is simply an arm lift in which the incisions are shorter. This is an appropriate procedure for those with less excess skin and fat. In some cases, the incision can be made in the armpit. A personal evaluation of your upper arms will reveal which surgical technique will be most effective in creating firm, fit upper arms in your case.
